5th grade baseball doubled up, but score five

After being shutout for consecutive games, the 5th grade baseball team erupted for 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning, but they were still doubled up by a final score of 10-5.

Errors and walks put the team in a bad spot as they trailed 3-0 after the first, and 7-0 going into the bottom of the fifth.

That's when they drew a handful of walks and started putting the bat on the ball.

Ricardo had the first of his two hits in the game, and two runs came in to score on throwing errors.

Barret then followed with an infield single that scored another, and the next two runs were walked in by the other team.

Allen started for the third time this year and went four innings strong, while Michael made his debut on the mound and closed it out with two solid innings.

Defensively, they had their share of errors, but were also able to make some nice plays.

After booting a ball in the third, Ryan bounced back and made a nice play in the fourth, knocking down the ball before flipping it to second to end the inning.

Justin made another nice catch on a pop-up later in the game.

The team plays again on Thursday.
