8th grade baseball team puts up some runs

By Brandon Lee

The 8th grade baseball team managed to put 3 runs on the board with a 2 out 2 run single by Joseph in the 1st inning and another run scored on a dropped 3rd strike.

But their poor pitching and defense led to their second straight loss to start the season.

Jackie was on the mound for the first time in his career but couldn't find the strike zone, issuing several walks.

Fiona and Garrick finished the game on the mound, but had no support from the defense. They did however turn a double play to end the third inning and everybody got at least one plate appearance.

The bottom line is that the team needs a lot of work on both defense and offense. They'll be out there again Sunday at West Sunset.
