White Teams whips up a big win, sloppy 6th grade suffers another loss

Mark scored 20 points in the first half alone to lead the White Team to a 34-19 victory.

The game was decided when the 8th grade took control with some early pressure on the defensive press and raced out to a 14-4 lead after one.

Calson had one of his best games of the year and had 8 points, all of them coming on strong offensive rebounds, which is something he has lacked in his entire career. It wasn’t the soccer throw-in shot, but a strong one-handed putback.

They piled it on the other team in the second quarter and led by three touchdowns at halftime 28-7.
Mark finished with 22 points, and was hitting from the outside and racing out on fast breaks.

It will be a quick turnaround for the White Team as they play in their second game of a back-to-back tomorrow at 3 p.m.

Gavin Lin added 4 points in the win.

6th grade reverts to old form
By Emily (6th Grade Beat Writer)
The 6th grade boys played like they were still on winter vacation and dropped their first game of 2011 by a score of 21-14.

They were sloppy from the start and it showed in the way they passed the ball, caught the ball, and most importantly, how they took care of the ball.

Ball handling was definitely a cause for concern tonight, as they got the ball taken away many times on their fast breaks. They had no aggression from the get-go, and dug themselves into a nine point hole, 15-6,  at halftime.

They managed to cut the lead to three early in the fourth, but that was as close as they would get.
Free throws were also problematic as they shot 4-of-11 from the line, and missed two shots on the front end of the one-and-ones.

Daniel had 7 points in the loss, and was the lone bright spot in tonight’s game.  His energy and determination to play the game was something lacking in the rest of his teammates.

Halfway through the season, they sit at (2-2).
