Offense comes alive

It took a while, but the offense finally came to life for the baseball team this afternoon. They scored a season-high 8 runs in a 17-8 loss this afternoon.

They scored 5 runs alone in the final inning, and were a batter short of batting around (like you know what that means).

Derek, Zach and Olivia all had extra-base hits into the outfield. Their ability to put the ball in play is a big plus, but now they will need to field better.

Once again, the errors completely killed their chances of winning this game. A total of 10 errors were committed -- 6 alone in the first inning. They simply dug too big a hole to climb out of.

Nonetheless, it was a much needed offensive outburst and something they should be able to build on for the rest of the season.
