3rd grade suffers heartbreaker in OT

The 3rd grade girls were 1:14 away from their first win, but a late bucket by the other team tied it up at 4-4.

After a scoreless OT, the other team scored with less than a minute to go in sudden death, sending the 3rd grade girls to their seventh loss on the season 6-4.

They remain winless on the year.

Sofia scored in the first half and Veronica put the girls ahead in the 3rd quarter with a nice steal and a lay-up.

But from that point forward they had trouble getting off any shots, and the turnovers didn't help their cause.

It looked like the girls were going to pull it off as both teams had trouble getting off shots in the 4th quarter. Jump ball after jump ball after jump ball they went.

But off of a bad pass, the other team went on a fast break and got an open shot to tie the game.

The other team scored in the same fashion in sudden death, off of a bad pass.

When Veronica scored, it was the 3rd grade's first lead of the regular season.
