Volleyball and soccer playoff schedules have been released.
On the volleyball side, the 5th/6th graders and 7th/8th graders will be in action on Thursday and Friday night at St. Emydius, with both games beginning at 7 p.m.
The 7th/8th grade girls get things going Thursday night against SAIC. St. Mary's won both meetings against SAIC this season, but had some trouble in their last meeting last Thursday. The match begins at 7 p.m.
Friday night, the 5th/6th graders will have to take out the number one team in their division again in order to punch their ticket to the championship. They will play Mission Dolores, who they beat in an epic three set thriller about 10 days ago.
Both soccer teams are in the playoffs for the first time in St. Mary's soccer history.
The 7th/8th grade will most likely face St. Paul Saturday in their playoff game Saturday at Crocker Amazon. The last time these two teams met, it was a 4-4 tie. St. Paul beat the 7th/8th graders earlier in the year when they were shorthanded the entire game. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m.
As for the 6th/7th graders, they will play Waldorf Saturday at Silver Terrace. In the regular season, the two teams tied 1-1, as a result of a goal nullified in the final minutes by the referee. This will definitely be a tight game. The scheduled start time is 2 p.m. Saturday.
