After losing by two points in their previous two outings, the 7th grade girls bounced back with a 23-8 win Friday night, against the school which beat them in the championship last season.
St. Cecilia, who returned only a handful of players from the title game last year was far from the team that won first last spring.
So the 7th grade girls took advantage and came away with a solid 15 point victory.
Fiona got the scoring started with a nice 3 pointer in the 1st quarter and Kelly added a career high 10 points.
She even hit a lay-up right at the buzzer to cap off the win.
The rhythm of this game was very poor since the other team had trouble really getting into a flow on offense. There were a lot of jump balls, tie-ups and offensive violations, which slowed the momentum of the game down.
With a lead for most of the game, the 7th graders also weren't getting the benefit of foul calls, and a mix-up at the scorer's table also caused a change in substitution pattern.
But all that meant nothing as the girls left with what they came for, a much needed win to put them back above .500 on the season.
At (3-2), they are fighting for their playoff lives, and will need every single win they can collect to make it back to the post-season.
It's a quick turnaround as the girls will play once again Saturday afternoon.
Jamie scored 3 points, while Ivanna and Victoria both chipped in with a bucket each.
