It's tough enough for St. Mary's baseball teams to compete on the field, but both baseball teams left themselves absolutely no chance of winning at all Saturday morning.
First, the 6th graders had only seven players at first pitch and forfeited for the second straight game.
And then two hours later, the 7th/8th grade, on a team with 12 players, had only five players on the field for the game.
The game was probably going to be rescheduled because the field was double booked. But since the 7th/8th graders didn't have enough players for the game, they were dealt a forfeit.
Ryan, Jackie, Justin, Brian, Jason were the five who showed.
Everybody has schedules, everybody knows there is a game, parents should know that there is a game.
But at the end of the day, this probably marked the lowest point we've experienced in our short history of baseball.
