Friday Night Recap -- 7th Grade Remains Undefeated, 8th Grade Dealt First Loss

The 7th grade remains the only St. Mary's undefeated team, after a 41-25 drubbing of Cornerstone. It was a competitive game in the first quarter, but the 7th graders broke away. They grabbed more rebounds, hustled, and were by far one step quicker to the ball. All that has translated into a (4-0) start to the season.

It gets even harder as they will face the other two undefeated teams in their next two games.

The 8th grade was handed their first loss of the season. Free throws were a big factor in this game as the charity stripe was not very charitable to the 8th grade. 35-29 was the final. It was competitive throughout and a few bounces here and there, and the score could be reversed. It all comes down to grabbing a few rebounds, playing good defense and making easy shots. The 8th grade didn't do enough of that tonight. They are (3-1) on the season.

The 5th/6th grade game was quite the memorable game for all sorts of reasons. What we can reveal is that it was close until the last few minutes of the game. They just couldn't score towards the end and end up losing 22-11. The 5th/6th grade is now (1-2) on the year.
