No Match for Rematch

After jumping out to an early 16-10 lead, the 7th grade slowly and slowly let the game slip away, and found themselves on the losing end for the first time this season, in a 41-30 loss in a championship rematch from last season.

There was not much defense in the first quarter as both teams traded baskets, until St. Mary's went on a run to end the quarter.

The 2nd quarter was arguably the worst quarter this team has played in their history, scoring a paltry 2 points in the entire quarter -- both on free throws, and on two different trips to the line. They trailed at halftime 20-18.

The offense and defense stalled in the 3rd quarter, and at one point, they were down 11 points, the largest deficit they had faced the entire season. Lackluster play by the 7th grade and some clutch shooting from OLV sealed their fate.

The team was terrible tonight from the free throw line and turned the ball over way too many times. They dribbled too much to break the press and countless lazy pass after lazy pass lead to easy fast break opportunities for the other team.

Their record now sits at (4-1) with a very important game coming up this Saturday.
