8th grade girls championship preview

Tomorrow night: Wednesday, November 18
Where: St. Emydius
Time: 6:15 p.m.
Address: 255 Jules Ave

The 8th grade girls go for it all tomorrow night when they play for the championship. I'll need to do my research to see exactly how long it has been since a St. Mary's team has been in a volleyball championship, but it's definitely been a while.

Their opponent tomorrow night did the exact opposite as the 8th grade girls did in terms of regular season, losing the first four and then winning the next four to make the playoffs in the final game of the year.

These two teams met in game one of the regular season and the 8th graders pulled off a three-set victory, their first ever win.

By no means is the team they are playing a slouch, and they will need to bring their best to win this game. The thing that has been a constant in their recent struggles have been serving. They served brilliantly in the playoff game and if they can do so again, they will be successful.

The first time they played this team, they still hadn't learned how to bump, set and spike. However, they have played a good portion of games and incorporated their hitting. This will be a very valuable asset in the game tomorrow night.

This team has faced more adversity and struggle than almost any team in the last few years. They have battled long and hard to get to where they are. They've had a remarkable journey and will look to top it off with the ultimate accomplishment, a championship in their 8th grade year.
