8th grade season comes to a close

Gavin C. looks on as he played his final CYO soccer game.
The 8th grade soccer season came to a close with today's 5-0 shutout this afternoon.

Going up against a championship game bound team was no easy task as one of their forwards basically exploded toward the goal less than a minute into the game.

There were a handful of mistakes by the defense and Miles, who started in goal, was buried too deep in the goalie's box on a few of the goals.

Today was the first game since the second of the year that Sebastian and Miguel played with the squad. They provided a spark in offensive chances but the team was unable to score a goal in their season finale.

They had several chances as Miguel and Sebastian almost hooked up a few times with crosses. Mark had a few opportunities to get his first career goal but he misfired wide of the net.

Their season concludes next Saturday with a game against the class of 2010.
