3rd/4th graders bounce back, Marissa accounts for all of 8th grade's points

The 3rd and 4th grade girls had a nice bounce back game after their performance Tuesday night, and lost 8-4 in round two of their CYO preseason tournament game.

Miracle scored all 4 points for the 3rd/4th graders, who were trailing 6-4 in the last minute of the game. A late basket accounted for the game's final bucket.

The girls will play their final tournament game Sunday, 4 p.m. at CYO Serramonte.

Team Marissa falls in round one
Marissa scored all of the 8th grade's points in a 34-23 loss in round one of the CYO preseason tournament.

From the free throw line, she shot a spectacular 15-for-16.

This was a tight game until the girls self destructed late in the fourth quarter.

They were also extremely careless with the ball, and turnovers in the backcourt led to at least 10 points for the other team, if not more.

When they were pressed in the second half, they conveniently gave the ball away almost at will, and that was the difference in the game.

On the glass, they were out-rebounded and the other team capitalized on a lot of second chance points.

Their next game is set for tomorrow night, 6 p.m. at St. Emydius.
