The 5th grade won 12-9 Saturday morning to improve to (5-1) on the season and returning to the playoffs after missing out on the post-season last year.
This game was a poor offensive showing with the two teams combining for only 21 points. Both teams had struggles with their shot as many of the shots just seemed to not want to go in the basket.
Late in the third, the 5th graders got a roll, outscoring their opponents 6-1 to end the quarter and led 10-5 heading into the fourth. But then the trouble that plagued this team all season appeared again, the inability to close out the game.
It came down to the last minute with the score 10-9. Darren put the game on ice and sank both his free throws to seal the game.
Brendan had a game high 6 points.
