Trailing 2-0 in the second quarter, Brandon picked the right time to pinch up, and found the ball at his foot inside the box. He didn't hesitate and he planted the ball into the corner pocket of the net for his first career goal.
The goal made it 2-1 and gave the team momentum heading into the third quarter.
The 7th/8th graders had several chances to tie it up. Two missed opportunities when the midfielders were unable to connect with Tommy up field were two key moments of the game that were not executed.
They also had a few other scoring chances on breaks, but just weren't able to muster the much needed second and tying goal.
After spending all their energy trying to even the score, a few let downs towards the end of the game resulted in two goals for the other team, as the 7th/8th graders lose 4-1.
In the loss, Elliot played his first game in goal and did a respectable job. Defenders Timothy and Gavin L. played very solid games. And after a rough first half, Gavin C. bounced back and had a strong second.
