Elliot and defense pitch a shut-out, teams ties 0-0

Great play by Elliot, who had his first career shutout, and the 7th/8th grade defenders paved the way to a 0-0 tie in this afternoon's contest.

The team was on the defense for the better part of the game, but they did not make any critical mistakes and didn't give up any point blank shots. Elliot directed traffic and took command, making good reads and strong kicks to get the ball out of their own zone.

They did not get much help from the offense as the team generated only one or two real good chances to score, and only one corner kick, compared to the other team's 10+.

If they can put together a full game with the offense and defense clicking, their chances of winning become that much greater.
