8th grade girls handed first loss

The 8th grade girls lost their first game 25-18, 25-20 and drop to (4-1) on the season.

The team played well in spurts but could never string together any momentum, when momentum is needed most in the sport. The one thing that stood out more than anything was their serving, which hurt them for the first time this season. Aside from one or two players, every girl on the team had trouble serving today.

The girls couldn't get into a rhythm and found themselves playing catch-up the entire two sets.

They'll have to shake off tonight's game because their turnaround is less than 24 hours. Tomorrow they will play at St. Ignatius, starting at 3 p.m.
