8th grade shakes off slow start, dominates in the second

**HIGHLIGHTS UPDATED**

The 8th grade stalled through the first half and missed lay-up after lay-up after lay-up and only had a six point lead at halftime.

They woke up in the second half and played some incredible defense, and ran the other team out of the gym, collecting win number five on the season 32-7. They are now (5-2) and could lock off a playoff berth with a loss by another team this weekend.

Everyone got into the scoring in the second half, including Kelvin and Kevin who both were absent from the score sheet the last few games. Elliot continued to contribute and had another 5 points. Tommmy hit a three for his second consecutive game.

Their defense kept them in the game as their first half as their offense was just offensive. They had opportunity after opportunity, and proceeded to miss easy shot after easy shot. But their defense and press locked down the other team as they yielded only 3 points the entire first half, and only 7 the entire game. Any time you shut down the opponent to single digits, especially in 8th grade, is a great feat.

Derek had probably his best game passing the ball, as he set up several easy shots in the second half, showing that he can contribute even when he doesn't shoot the ball.
