Much needed win by the 7th grade

When the 7th grade boys put their mind to it, and play with the will to win, usually they win.

If they don't, they get efforts like they did Friday night and the first half of Saturday morning's game.

Luckily, the second half of Saturday morning's game was one of those moments where the 7th grade boys take over a game and go on a roll.

Their defensive pressure and aggressiveness in the second half was enough to make up for a slow start, and the 7th grade was able to pick up a much needed win, 29-26, to improve to (4-2) on the season.

A little over 12 hours removed from a 15 point loss, the 7th graders had a quick turnaround and were able to put together perhaps a season saving victory.

Justin led the way with 11 points and Daniel got back on track after a rough few games and had 9 points.

For the second straight game, they played without their two biggest weapons in the post, Christian, who is sick, and Brendan who is on injured reserve.

With only six players suited up, they ran out of gas towards the end Friday night, but it wasn't the case Saturday morning.

Perhaps faced with losing to an inferior team and a three game losing streak, the boys put it together when they needed it and have a win to show for it.

In their team history, they have never won more than four games in a regular season. If they can just get one in the next two, they'll be assured of a winning record for the first time.
