5th/6th grade clinches a playoff spot

This time, it didn't take a last second free throw to win the game.

The 5th/6th grade won convincingly 20-8 Saturday morning to clinch a playoff spot, beating a team they beat by only one point over a month ago.

Andy hit a free throw with less than 10 seconds left the last time these two teams locked up, but the late game heroics were not needed in this game.

Eric Tung scored for the second straight game, as he started the offense with a bank shot in the 1st quarter.

Six of the seven players in uniform got on the scoresheet as they put together their best team win of the season.

The 20 points is also the most points they have scored as a team.

Shots and lay-ups weren't falling early in the game, but the team stayed patient and the balls started going through the net.

Adam had another strong game and had a game high 6 points while Eric L. added in 5 points.

Andy set a career high for himself and had 4 points, while Spencer had 2 points.

Jackie also had 2 points.

So with one game left, the 5th/6th grade (5-2) has already locked up a post-season berth.

They'll face a stiff challenge in their season finale, going up against the number one team in the division.
