And now the 3 Stars of the weekend, taken from hockey. That's where the 3 stars come from. This was tough because there were many great performances this weekend.
But before we get to that, everyone here would like to wish MELINDER, real name Melinda a Happy Birthday.
*** 3rd Star - Melinda
Melinda has hit some tough outside shots, including some crucial ones in the win on Sunday. Saturday, she hit 2 of her free-throws in the team's comeback to win.
** 2nd Star - Beverlyn
Beverlyn is one of the most improved girls players this season and it has showed so far in the tournament and games. She can now create her own shot, and doesn't have to just wait for the occasional rebound for her to put back in. When she gets the ball, she is much more aggressive and doesn't hesitate to shoot.
* 1st Star - Vivian
For the second straight week, Vivian gets the #1 star honor. In only two quarters, Vivian piled up 8 points in the 8th grade's victory. Vivian does a lot of the little things right, running the court and getting into position where she can score. She makes the most out of her opportunities and converts them. Soon, these games will be expected from Vivian and not just one of those great games every now and then.
