The low of lows become the high of highs

This time, the lead was gone.

The 8th grade girls blew a 10 point lead and found themselves down a point, 26-25 with less than 20 seconds remaining in the game.

With about 4 minutes left in the fourth, the girls were up by 10 points, only to see the lead slip away little by little. Then with less than two minutes in the game, the other team hit back-to-back three-pointers to tie the game.

On the following inbounds, the 8th graders turned the ball over right back to the other team. A girl drove to the basket and was fouled, setting up two free-throws for the opposition with the game tied.

She made 1-of-2 from the free-throw line and the 8th grade trailed by a point.

With 20 seconds left on the clock, Vivian somehow found herself wide open in the front court. The ball got to her and she made the go-ahead lay-up, putting the 8th grade up 27-26 with 6.7 seconds left.

Following a timeout, the other team threw up a 3-pointer that never reached the rim and time expired. The 8th grade escaped with a 27-26 win.

BRIEFLY: With the win, the 8th grade girls are now (4-1). They did a great job from the free-throw line, hitting 13-of-24.
