DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME
Remember, to move your clocks forward an hour so you won't be late for practice tomorrow. When it hits 2 a.m., it's really 3 a.m.
The 6th grade picked up their first victory of the season, in a 10-5 win. After losing three straight in the tournament, they bounced back strong, played some good defense and scored just enough to pick up win number one.
3rd/4th Grade
The 3rd/4th grade played their first game ever, but lost 14-2. It was a little bit nerve-racking as expected, but with a game under their belts, they should be much better prepared for the rest of the season. Cynthia scored the first ever points for the 3rd/4th grade team.
7th Grade
Playing again with only five players, the 7th grade surrendered an 8-0 run early in the 4th quarter, and were unable to catch up and dropped game one of the season 18-14. It's too difficult to play with only five girls, but they hung in their for the entire game. It was a good effort, but you can only do so much when you are understaffed.
8th Grade
The 8th graders had their 3-game winning streak snapped today in a 35-20 loss. The defense for the 8th grade which had propelled them to victory in the last two games was nonexistent. They gave up 15 points alone in the first quarter, most of them off of turnovers and mistakes.
It also didn't help that they shot 8-for-24 from the free-throw line. They cut the lead to 10 points in the 3rd quarter, but that's as close as they got. They are now (1-1) on the year.
