4th grade loses close one to finish the season

It wasn't a win, but the 4th grade came close to one to finish off their sophomore season.

Tied at 7-7 to start the second half, the other team went on a 6-0 run, which was too much for the 4th graders to overcome, and they lost by a final score of 16-12.

Brendan had a team high 10 points and Darren scored 2 points in the loss.

It's been a rough ride for the youngest St. Mary's team, losing five straight games to end the year.

At one point, they were (2-1) but it was the soft part of their schedule. Against the tougher teams, they were unable to pull through.

They jumped two divisions, which is not the norm for a team that finished at .500 the year before, but they had to go with the cards they were dealt with.

On the bright side, playing against tougher competition can make a team better. But when it comes to young players like the 4th grade, it could also hurt their confidence.

So the boys have been battle tested early in their careers, which is a good thing. They've gone through the tough stretches and hopefully this experience has made them stronger for their upcoming years.
