Kaela drops 17 for third straight game

Three games into the season, the 5th grade girls have a lot of common themes. They get better by the game, they win and Kaela scores 17 points.

For the second straight game, Kaela matched her career high with 17 points in the 5th grade's 24-4 win Sunday afternoon. They improve to (3-0) to start the season.

Michaela provided 7 points going 3-for-4 from the free throw line, and hitting two field goals in the first half.

Lily has made some great strides since the beginning of the season as she is now firmly grabbing rebounds underneath. Several of the points the 5th grade scored were off some good rebounds by Lily, followed by quick outlet passes to get the transition game going.

Also, Kaela is starting to slowly develop her game passing wise, looking for her open teammates and getting them involved in the offense. Today the shots didn't fall but there were more shots from the team as a whole.

Through three games, the 5th grade hasn't really been tested that much. Their defense has held their opponent to single digits in scoring.

With their offense scoring in the 20s, they will be able to win a lot of games if their defense and rebounding can continue.

Couple that with more than half of the team still gaining experience by the game, this could be a team that could make a run for the title come playoff time.

The girls led 10-0 at halftime, and the other team didn't score until midway through the 4th quarter.
