Huge second half gives the 8th grade their second win

The 8th grade girls outscored their opponent 20-4 in the second half, and won convincingly for the second straight game 29-7.

It was a sloppy first half where both teams turned the ball over more than they scored, and it was a 9-3 grind in favor of the 8th graders at halftime.

But the team woke up in the second half, hit some easy shots, which led to some confidence and the rest was history.

Sabrina, making her St. Mary's debut had a game high 9 points, and Amanda scored 8 points, all on jump shots from the outside, leading the offense in the second half romp.

Their defense was stingy to say the least, not allowing the other team any breathing room, as each shot was forced or contested. They were able to cause turnovers from the beginning to the end of the game.

For the second straight week, it was a real slow first half, but something starts to click at halftime, and the girls dominate in the final two quarters.

Pamela, Maria and Jocelyn all had 4 points in the win.

The 8th grade is now (2-0).
