7th grade wraps up their season

The 7th grade girls got a gift even before they took the court Friday night as it was announced their game Saturday would not be played due to the other team forfeiting.

Then they went out and played a basketball game and won 19-6.

Their record will stand at (6-2) to close out the regular season, good enough for a playoff berth.

Jamie was the only girl on the team who had the somewhat hot hand Friday night, scoring a game high 13 points.

Defensively, the girls just swarmed the ball all game creating havoc for the other team. Unfortunately, it could not translate to as many points since the girls seemed a bit off on their lay-ups.

Fiona scored 2 points but she didn't have the rhythm of the last two games. Kelly and Victoria both added a bucket a piece.

With a free win Saturday, the girls will be going to the playoffs for the second straight year. Their opponent is unknown at this time as none of the other teams in the division have completed their regular season schedule.
