Offense wakes up too late for the 6th grade girls

The brand new 6th grade team lost their second straight game Saturday morning 14-10, evening their regular season record at (3-3).

Kaela sat out for the second straight game with an injury, as her teammates fought for win number four.

Five girls scored points for the 6th graders, but each player scored only two points.

The best player out on the court was Christine, who really made it a point to be around the ball every time she had the opportunity.

She worked hard and created some offense for herself and got to the free throw line twice, where she split the attempts on both occasions.

That type of knack for the ball was lacking for the better part of the game from her teammates.

It was only a 6-4 deficit at halftime, and the 6th grade hung around throughout the contest. But a scoreless 3rd quarter did them no favors as they waited until the final two minutes of the game for two field goals by Becky and Lily.

Michaela sat out the 4th quarter with a bloody nose, and there were basically no true ball handlers on the court for the final six minutes.

Adrianna stepped up but she hadn't had point guard duties since 2011.

WIth their record even at (3-3), they are still in the playoff chase, but they really need a win without Kaela to boost their confidence.

A little energy from Christine towards the end of the game could be just what they need.

They'll have to carry that over to the final two games of the year.

Adrianna and Michaela both had two points in the team's second consecutive loss.
