Veronica carries team back to .500

With Justina sitting out the second half thanks to a jammed finger, someone needed to step up to keep the 4th grade girls' playoff hopes alive. Next girl up, Veronica.

Veronica hit the game-winning shot in the 4th quarter and gave the girls a 5-4 victory in a very low scoring defensive struggle.

The girls jumped out to a 3-0 lead by halftime, but gave up four points in the 3rd quarter which put them behind by one.

And in the end, the ball bounced on their side as they were able to make one key basket, while the other team could not capitalize on their opportunities.

At (3-3), they are still alive and well in the playoff chase with two games remaining.
